His gaze would watch with keen interest as the boy tossed the skull around like it was a chew-toy. Though he was certainly strange upon first inspection, his playfulness was infectious, and he found a grin splitting across his features. Slowly he would creep a bit closer, paws contacting with the cool earth, which was already beginning to accumulate a bit of snow. He could only hope the weather would not put a damper on their plans, but he was rather willing to wait, for it would be better to perfect their course of action before rushing things.
Somehow the boy's attention was arrested from the skull, and it came crashing down from the sky, smashing against his skull. He seemed surprised, but all-over unharmed. He raised a brow, wondering why this boy was so strange; not that he was overly normal himself. "A free spirit!" he exclaimed dramatically, his eyes and voice alight with laughter. He had not been raised so freely, not in the sense this boy likely considered; faith had been engrained into him, and how he would have been punished if he had strayed from his religion. But he had never been inclined to question such things -- life was so wonderful and pleasurable that he has no need to wonder if it was all a lie.
He was rather taken aback when the boy tossed the skull his way, eyes widening as he shifted to duck from skull. His reaction ought to have been to catch it, but instead it simply hit the side of his neck and fell to the earth. His facade faltered, a rarity for the free-spirited man; the slightest hint of a frown tugged at the corners of his lips, but he forced a grin onto his lips just as quickly. What a weird boy. And what a coincidence that he had the same pelt of the woman he was searching for! Eyes would stray, drifting over the boy's body. So feminine. So soft. Unlike anyone he'd met before. Even his scent was off. Slowly he crept forward a bit, sniffing subtly at his aroma. This was not the creature they were looking for, but he was so interesting -- he'd caught his attention. Another laugh fell from parted jowls, a haunting sound that he hardly felt he needed to contain.
After a moment of silence, he took a few steps closer. "Now, you think fast!" He alerted him, before leaping forward and intending to snag hold of the scruff around the boy's neck. Not a threatening gesture, but more of a playful one -- but it could easily be taken in a different way...
