From his place beneath the cart, Chimera's squinted eye watched the bob-tailed fae pick her way up and down the beach. She went into the water and he was a little envious, but he just couldn't brave the bright and the heat just yet. Once the sun settled, then he'd take a dip for sure. For now though, he simply laid there and watched periodically, though most of the time his eyes were shut.

Reila eventually plopped down beside him beneath the cart and he could feel the cool temperature pouring off of her damp coat. Her words met his ears and Chimera grunted. Again that pale, pink eye cracked, checking to see what she'd collected and what she was doing. He watched as she slid a knife between two sides of shell and popped the things open. Not much of a seafood fan, he held no interest in eating any of it, but he still watched while she worked, thankful that the sun was almost over the horizon.
