As Briar’s handmaiden, Lia had stuck close to the Queen in the days approaching the wedding. Washing her fur with soaps that helped to bring an extra shine to the woman's coat, and leave it as soft as Zephs feathers. On the day of, she helped Briar get ready, before organising the fledgling flower bird. Smoothing his feathers and giving light spray into them until he smelled delightful and his assemble glowed.

When it was time to take her seat, she left one free for Zeph who joined her at a quick waddle, tucking a wing over her as he clung close to his side. She leaned into him, and held him gently. Knowing the poor young creature was as nervous as could be. “You’ve got this” she whispered encouragingly, knowing he had practised and practised until he could do it in his sleep.
