The team talks and Fern nods to the other ideas offering quiet support for them. As Avacyn calls for them to take up positions, the gray girl looks over her teammates and says, “Just do what feels right. We are to have fun… and win.” A huge grin appears as they split up, moving to toe the starting line with the members of her team. When Avacyn kicks off the party, the gray girl jogs slowly forward and her eyes roam the opposing team, waiting to see if someone charges her.
In the end a familiar face charges her. A small streak of cobalt and cream comes barreling toward straight toward her. Ah! The Fenmyre pup had come to play too! Fern angles her body to intercept Scylla and charges her start on. They are two trains wound up and set on an inevitable course, each moment drawing them toward the final conclusion. She smiles at the giggling, hooting form, ready to fight a worthy opponent. And worthy she is!
Scylla is small and has speed on her size so, when the cobalt and cream wolf feints to her side, Fern almost loses track of her. Actually, she does lose track of her as Scylla ducks under her! The tickling of the small wolf’s fur on her underside has the gray girl giggling and missing the tripwire tail that Scylla has made. Only when she feels teeth sink in to her knee does Fern finally catch on. Oh, hell no. She is not getting tripped.
With all her built-up momentum, Fern throws every bit of her weight toward the side Scylla is biting. She aims to try and tumble over (and maybe even onto) the smaller form of Scylla. As she falls, Fern lashes out at anything and everything that is not a piece of herself. Even as she growls and snarls, the gray girl cannot stop thinking about happy she is and how much fun she is having!
