There was a brief moment of shock and confusion as she felt the pressure of jaws upon her horned head. It was enough to bring the aging queen to pause briefly, her legs splaying hard to keep her ground as Gossamer sought to throw her aside. It had been literal years since she'd been in combat without accessories, without the wrapping of thorns that deterred enemies from attempting a grab such as this one. It was the petite female's greatest weakness in combat and one she'd been quick to rectify the first time Sirius had used them to gain control of her head. How had she forgotten that she'd not been wearing them today? Fuck. Releasing her daughter's arm, Zee wrenched her head abruptly down and to the side, hoping that the twisting of her horned head might force her daughter to release her mutation. She knew it was the only shot she had at turning the fight around, as in a battle of brawn Gossamer would have no issue forcing her to the ground.
