Val watched him the entire time, her dual-toned gaze following each turn of the bandage as he wrapped her injury. When he was finished, he released her limb and she reflexively pulled it back against her body for comfort.

When the boy asked about the time that she'd obtained her injuries, Valtiel simply said, "Yesterday." She thought it was yesterday unless she'd been passed out on that beach even longer than she thought. Then he mentioned contraceptives and the girl's midnight ears pulled back. Her head turned to hide the shame on her gold flecked features. In the end, she just nodded. Val didn't think she was old enough to make pups just yet, but there was no way that she wanted to risk that. She would take whatever Cerberus gave her.
