Fair enough. He nodded to her in silence before returning to his task. The trout didn't seem too afraid or bothered by their presence, so maybe not many wolves tried to fish them out. Amber gaze locked onto another target. He waited quietly, haunches slowly inching him forward as he moved a little closer to the water's edge. His legs weren't as long as Knut's nor that of other wolves, so he had to make a little extra effort to reach. Watching the trout circle around the middle of the pool and slowly make its way towards his direction, the dwarf waited another heartbeat or two before he struck.

Though apparently, Knut had been eyeing the very same fish as well. As Gimli struck the water, Knut's did as well. Their paws slapped each other and the fish. The trout went flying up as water splashed both hunters, and in one desperate motion to keep the fish from returning to the water, Gimli lunged forward and snatched it just as it fell back towards the pool. And he too, followed suit. He fell into the water, only to emerge a moment later as he righted himself. He sputtered as he scrambled for the shore and pulled himself out, fish clutched firmly in his jaws. "Ye coulda warned me, Knut!" He growled as he moved away to shake off his coat. If there was anything he hated most in this world, it was getting wet! His thick and shaggy coat dragged him down when he was wet, and it took him forever to dry without a fire. That and well...wet fur made him appear smaller, and he was already small enough.
