A burden come to bear

The information he’d just learned was…well…about as life changing as when he’d learned Sedna was pregnant. But it couldn’t be true, because if it was…he didn’t even want to think about it. He went straight to the clinic where he was sure she’d be, and thankfully she was. He entered like a bat out of hell, mouth open as he breathed quickly from running. “Sedna, I need to talk to you. In our room. Please,” he said, his golden eyes pleading. His partner was always a good ear and would be able to suss out just how much truth there could be, but more than that this could potentially affect her, too. The woman had quickly grown to be someone he would daresay he loved, and her presence alone was enough to quell some of his panic.
