Breaking and Entering

While Saracyn and the Kodiak bear squared off with one another in a competition of out-intimidating the other predator, the yearling wolf held the bear's entire focus, permitting Avacyn to move about as she pleased. He made a grand distraction of himself while a purple blur of lightning zoomed past him and between the rock and the bear. The bear bellowed in confusion as well, following the movement it saw and swiping with claws on empty air as it tried to stop Avacyn from getting past him. Unfortunately for the dumb ursine, it let itself get distracted by his sister, leaving Saracyn total access to its vulnerable backside.

Grinning like a maniac, Sara launched himself toward the bear, leaping up to sink fangs and claws into the bear's backside. The kodiak gave a startled bellow and rose up on its hind legs, trying to toss the wolf off of it, but Saracyn was latched on and not letting go. He clawed at the bear's fatty backside, extending his serrated blade to hack and slash ferociously at any part of the bulky bear he could reach. The bear tried to reach around to swipe at the wolf, but to no avail. Losing blood and in pain, the bear resorted to doing something drastic: it threw itself back into the craggy mountain wall, slamming Saracyn into the rock between them. Sara gasped as the air was knocked from his lungs and he was dislodged, collapsing to a breathless heap on the ground while the bear rounded on him with a roar and murderous intent in its beady black eyes.
