Artorias had laid out the plan to expand The Hallows territory and Fern had jumped on the chance to help. The idea of finding a suitable place for the pack to expand had to have a good source of prey and the gray girl had done some scouting in search of a target. After tracking many different animals, she had could the trail of a male tapir. The large, pig-like creature would be a good source of food for the pack and a steady supply of their meat would benefit the growing pack greatly.
Fern gathers a hunting party to head out to Wildberry Grove. With her trusty sword strapped across her back, she leads the way through the twilit panted forest. Silently, the party slips through the tree line, quiet death hunting its prey. Dark nose works to follow their chosen prey’s scent trail as she makes sure that they remain downwind of their prey. Finally, the distance, the dark grey form of a tapir can be seen rooting around in the berry bushes and Fern calls for the group to stop.
Bright blue eyes turn to her fellow packmates, the gray girl softly whispers, “That’s our target. It can be very fast, so go for its legs to stop its retreat and bring it down quickly. We are going to chase it down so, be safe and be smart. We don’t need any injuries here. Okay?” A serious tone rests in Fern’s voice as she addresses the group. This is important for the pack and she would hate to have to explain to Art how someone got hurt on her watch.
