Big Kitty!

The stranger digs into the lion’s leg, breaking the cat leg’s in the process. It yowls striking out at the wolf that had just wounded it. Fern sees the opening she has been waiting for and she reaches back to pull her sword from its home. The steel shines in the winter sunlight, well-oiled and clearly well-cared for. It catches the light, reflecting it as she drives the sword straight for the feline’s head. The lion turns to find the source of the thrown light, and Lark’s Song pierces the lion’s skull, ending the confused cat’s life in the space of a breath.

Fern huffs around the hilt for a moment before planting her paws on either side of the cat’s face and pulling backward to free her sword. Lips curl up in a smile as looks the stranger, quickly cleaning off the steel before sliding it back into the scabbard. A bright smile is given to the taller male and she says, “Thanks for the help! You are a great fighter. Do you… want a lion’s carcass?” She can’t really carry it all the way back to Auster but he might get some use from it. Almost as an afterthought she adds, “My name is Fern. Nice to meet you.”
