Distance morals, confused toils

Oscar hates the cold. Once again, the Irish donkey ponders how he managed to fall into a herd that loves the snow. A reindeer, a cave lioness, a huge… well whatever Rannoch is and him. He grumbles to himself as his small hooves plod through the powder and he continues to curse softly to himself. Nugget, his rooster companion, sits fluffed out on his rump, head under his wing, pretending not to hear the grumpy donk’s ranting. Taiga had been sure to rub her scent all over him before allowing him to go out and explore; his two near death experiences making her, less willing to allow the ass roam too far. But he needs to get away from his herd for a bit, stretch his preverbal wings and prove that he is not a walking trouble magnet. And what better way to do that then to explore!
The metal husk of unknown creature from some begone era lays frozen to the icy landscape, great holes torn into its side. Oscar scents the air for predators but, not finding any (later he blame the cold for freezing his nostrils), the small ass makes his way into the hulking, dead beast. Hooves clang loudly against the metal, reverberating forcefully through the enclosed space. He winces, pausing a moment, to see if anything will attempt to jump out at attack him but, when nothing does, he cautiously continues forward. Blue eyes dart from to side, his natural prey instincts screaming at him to leave such an enclosed space but, as usually, the donkey ignores it. Until an ashen and black form catches his gaze. Oscar lets out a loud bray of alarm as he shuffles away from the wolf that is sitting near a growing herb.
Nostrils flare at he looks at the predator, flicking his long ears as he says, “Oi! You scared me! If ya gonna try an’ eat me, know a lioness will be lookin’ for ya!” Oscar’s thick Irish accent is even heavier due to the stress of the moment. He tries to appear tall and threatening but really… can a short, fuzzy donkey ever look threatening? Nugget finally pulls his head out from under his wing and cranes his head around to blink at the stranger.
Be warned! Oscar can (and often times will) be an ass!
