They didn't have long to wait in their respective ambush positions before the sounds reached them of Ignis' companions driving the deer towards the ambush. Ignis was closer to the deer's path and far larger than her so his attack would be the one most likely to succeed in stopping the deer in its tracks, so Corbie would watch him to move first. She didn't want to cause the deer to shy away by moving too early and ruin Ignis' chance. The deer came racing towards her and she tensed, ready. Ignis exploded out of hiding to grab the deer's leg, pulling it down. As the deer went down with a squeal Corbie leaped from her hiding spot to land on the deer's shoulder, pressing him into the snow with her weight while her jaws closed over its throat with a crunch. And just like that, it was over.
