As Seumas' life started to become a little less isolated, he started thinking to the future. Now that the harsh, harsh winter was over, and more and more wolfish scents were beginning to pop up, he was hopeful of meeting some new faces soon. And to make a good impression, the young wolf needed some more meat on his bones. His first, and hopefully last, winter solo hadn't been kind to him. Underneath his thick winter coat, Seumas' ribs were sharper than he would like, and he altogether felt like he needed the kind of rest that a loner was rarely afforded. These things would be fixed in time though. Now that the winter was thawing, and he wasn't relegated to any small prey or fish he could scavenge from the coast, his travels south east brought him into the range of bigger, meatier prey.

Said prey was currently nuzzling away at the surprisingly verdant lichen covering the floor of the valley Seumas had tracked it to. He had spent the better half of the morning slowly tracking the female - her scent informing him that she wasn't too young or pregnant. Staying downwind of her had been difficult - the spring winds were unpredictable in their blusters at the best of times. Now he was within striking distance. She was distracted - the only sounds to be heard were her soft chewing sounds. Haunches tensed, head low to the ground, Seumas readied himself to strike...

BAM!

A small boulder bounced down the sheer rocky edges of the valley. And... there went his dinner. The dall sheep bounded away forward toward the valley's middle. For fuck's sake! With a huff, Seumas started towards the sheep yet again, head low to the ground.
