More than you Think

It had been so long since Erebos had set foot in these lands. After a brief, tumultuous meeting with his father, he had disappeared. He had needed to clear his head. The vacation had worked - to a degree. The hallucinations had become far less frequent, only plaguing him in especially stressful situations, but the depression remained. A deep feeling of lacking satisfaction, a desire to remain in one comfortable place for days at a time, the absence of motivation to do more than sleep. He was ragged, run-down with the lack of nourishment and happiness. He had been alone for so long.
There was no way to be sure what had brought him back. Natural instinct had moved his feet and returned him to his home, where he now wandered previously unexplored territories, looking for anything to bring back the joy he had found in life when he first came here a year previous. Looking to get back to his routines, to his ability to converse with others. Still, he doubted he would be so lucky. He would never be lucky, never again. Who would be so kind as to help a mentally unstable brute back to his normal state of abnormality?
A vaguely familiar scent caught on his nose, drawing him forward through the woods. He was unsure who it was that lurked before him, but he needed to seek out any possibility of restoring himself. Perhaps this wolf would be the one to help him through. Doubtful. He shook his head vigorously as he picked up speed, coming to a quick halt when he finally laid eyes upon her. What was her name? Would she remember him? He had taught this one to fish, that much he knew. But she wouldn't recognize him the way he was now. His fur was a matted, dirty mess, and a crazed look remained in his eyes. There were no smiles to be had this time.
