Hard running pawsteps somewhere behind and to one side of her told her that Deus had judged it was time to make his own move after a rabbit. He had the harder job, since he didn't have anyone blocking the warren if his rabbit looped around. Then her attention was caught by a familiar clearing and she skidded to a halt, letting the rabbit get ahead of her on the path so she didn't risk running onto the snare and breaking it. A sharp squeal and thrashing from ahead of her told her that one of the snares had been successful, so without checking it she turned back on her path and looped wide to slip in front of the warren - startling a few rabbits who had thought to sneak back to the warren while they were occupied - to give Deus the backup he'd given her.
