It would have taken a monumental disaster to keep the Armadan Queen from attending this day of importance and from watching yet another of her children rise out from their ranks and into a leadership role. It was faintly reminiscent of the day his father had claimed his own pack from the ashes of Olympia, except when Sirius had called for an opposition to his claim, the call had gone unanswered.

Kotori's rise to power would not be uncontested, it would seem. Zee moved to stand behind him, finding a spot for herself beside Gossamer. There was no doubt in her mind that her son would come away with his pack, one way or another. The only question was whether this stranger would pose enough of a challenge to stop him from seeing his dream come to fruition today. She bit back the instinct to offer words of encouragement or praise, knowing it would do nothing for his image to have his mother at his back telling him how proud she was of where he now stood.
