Distance morals, confused toils

Oscar bares his flat teeth, trying to appear threatening to the taller wolf that whips around and draws back her lips at him. As his thick Irish tones tumble out of his mouth, the she-wolf looks at him in fascination and the donkey narrows his eyes. Is this… a trick? But then she speaks and it is his turn to blink at her in surprise and he flicks his long ears in consideration. The voice of another stranger behind him, has Oscar braying in alarm as he attempts to push himself up against the side of the great metal beast, Nugget, his cochin rooster companion, lets out a startled series of clucks and screeches at the sudden movement.
Donkeys are prey animals and, as such, the sudden appearance of an unannounced predator behind said prey animal forces Oscar’s natural instincts to take center stage. His eyes widen, allowing the white around the edges to be seen as they roll in their sockets, searching for an escape route. Long ears pin back and his nostrils flare as he sucks in serval deeps breathes in preparation to fight or run. All this happens in a span of a few seconds while Oscar’s heart thunders under his ribs even as the koi-colored wolf says they will not hurt him.
Her voice is polite and the small ass allows his gaze to fall her while he works to try and calm himself down… but then she moves to go past him. Oscar is powerless to stop the kick that suddenly happens, his brain, still clicked into the fight or flight portion, only catches up as his leg snaps out toward the too close predator. Words are all good and well but when an unknown wolf is suddenly right beside you… The only thing he can do is bray out a warning to the koi-wolf as his small hoof flies toward where she stands. After the strike, he dances backward, eyes rolling in fear of sudden retaliation.
He shrinks away, trying to appear small and he brays out again, his heart feeling like it is going to burst from the fear that courses hotly through his veins. The first wolf is talking again but Oscar doesn’t hear her as he tried to calm the frantic pace of his heart and the instincts that threaten to drown him. Small hooves stamp the metal he walks on, fear and agitation written plainly on the donkey.
Be warned! Oscar can (and often times will) be an ass!
Oscar has a thick Irish accent and a Cochin Rooster companion named Nugget who is always nearby
