The name burned into Beauregard’s brain like a raging flame. He had heard that dark wolves existed, sure, but to meet a creature that actually longed to do harm, and spoke with such venom, was beyond the yearling. Their bodies were pressed against one another with force, neither wolf wanting to give an inch to the other, at least until Beau’s blade sliced his opponent’s rear left leg. That was when things were going to get interesting again.

Mika shifted to his right and Beauregard had to focus on quickly righting his balance across all four of his limbs. Beau turned inward, just as he heard Trill’s warning of an attack. Pain flared a heartbeat later, fangs sinking into his haunch and the soft unders between his leg and belly. Gritted his teeth tighter around the blade this time Beau sought to drive the blade home into Mika’s haunch where the previous cut began - two could play that game!

He felt the slam of the other wolf on his and grunted - but that was all the stranger had earned for himself. No doubt his toes were going to bruise something fierce later, but he’d managed to avoid breaking anything for now. He tried to keep his limbs moving, which wouldn’t be an easy task with Mika’s jaws where they were, but he tried to hop forward anyway – just in case he couldn’t do this and needed to make a break for it.
