Hanako scooted away from Sparrow as soon as they were free and Sparrow really didn't blame her. The silence filled the gap between them for long enough that Sparrow had started to doze off when Hanako's voice reached her ears. In her drowsiness, she forgot she was supposed to be angry, or it had at least subsided entirely on its own. Hanako listed all the situations she could think of and Sparrow chuckled at the thought of a small Hanako chew toy.

"Those are good ideas, but- she started, her voice thick with her half-slumber. "I was thinking we roast you over the fire with an apple wine glaze." She pushed her face deeper into her pillow. "We do have some pups who could use a chew toy, though. Or we could float you off to sea in a raft. Or maybe," Sparrow turned to face the vindictive woman, "You could become the Pirate Queen."

She was sure Hanako would make a good show of gagging and thrashing around, and this time she was ready for it.
