Its in the trees

Kotori had made his way from the rapids and down to the falls.  He stopped when he scented an elk.  Well, that was meat and extra to spare.  Kotori jogged and hopped down the rocky falls until he caught the scent of elk all the stronger off in the nearby trees.  After watching the trees for a bit he spotted movement that had nothing to do with wind.  

Kotori glanced to Tove then left the water's edge, taking a wide circuit into the trees as well.  Kotori finally spotted the elk fully.  It was already a good size but the signs of youth were still there to be spotted.  The thicker muscles and power of an adult weren’t there just yet.  It had that lanky look about it.  Velvety antlers had sprouted but still had a ways to go even if this was his first set.
