Bottom of the Deep Blue Sea
Hanako

Hanako should have known Sparrow wouldn't rise to the occasion, try to shoo away her concerns. If anything she doubled down, barely even looked her way when she responded, all dry and easy, like this was some sort of joke. Banter between old friends. They had been friends, could still be if things hadn't ended the way they did. If Hanako wasn't so...Hanako. She huffed in obvious offence, soft pelt puffing up like an angered cat as she pouted, the pale of her nose wrinkling in discontent. Would have stomped her paw if she wasn't laying down. She should have tried to bite her earlier, that would've made Hanako feel a smidge better about all this. Not so...cornered. Like all the things Sparrow was saying could come true.
And then as though to tie off her offers with a red bow she stated Hanako could be a queen-a tempting notion. If it hadn't come to this, if she wasn't burning with
vindictiveness, resentment and all things sour.
"You attack me then...offer me that?" Hanako trailed off, unsure she even followed Sparrow's line of thought. Maybe she never could, maybe they were just too different. Opposites attract and all that. "Why don't you hate me?"
She should, if she knew what was good for her. And yet the greedy part of Hanako didn't want to be let go, wanted to be coveted from all angles. Even if it was wrong and toxic, attention was shiny and priceless. Something she'd always chase.
"I'm so mad at you, I don't even have the words right now." She settled with, exhaling like a dragon emitting smoke. This time she did indeed slap her paw on the ground, it thudded the old dry wood. Resounded back into her chest. "I not gonna grovel or plead. Bow to what you want." So easily at least. "So don't waste your breath and bother asking."
And because she was real mature she stuck her tongue out.
