Bearly know you

Kotori was no coward but he did wait a few moments as Tove attacked the bear.  He would have rushed in right away if the bear hurt her but this was about making sure she could handle herself, at least to some degree.  He also had wanted to see her reaction and it did seem she just wanted to kill all bears and not just the polar bear he’d first fought alongside her.  Well, who was he to judge?  Kotori had killed plenty of bears and while it was under the reason of killing them to guard pack borders it was also fun.

Tove got a grip on its throat and as she avoids the bear attack Kotori charges to enter the fray.  With her interest in its throat, Kotori takes a wide circle before coming close, tilting his head sideways to use his horns for a slashing attack against her leg.  Sadly it was primarily fur he got but on the good side, he did get the bear's attention.

The bear roared in rage, crashing onto all four and swiping at Kotori.  Lunging in Kotori gets a bite on the paw, shaking his head, feeling his teeth going in deeper and the blood flowing more freely.  The bear yanks its paw back and Kotori has to let go.
