"I know."

Eden admitted this easily. Even if she was to run, he'd chase after her. Maybe not right away, but sooner or later. Why would she put a community through that? If it was her, she would protect the individual. She would make sure, no matter the cost, they were safe. But not everyone could be like that. Not everyone had the strength to protect a single person over the needs of another. People were selfish. She knew this to be true. "There is no point in running from you."

As much as she wanted to, she could not in good conscience throw her problems onto someone or someplace else. Her problems were her own. Her situation was her own. But, she thought, it wasn't truly just her anymore. Ignis shoved past her and she bowed her head. Perhaps she refused to tell him, because he was being cruel to her again. Perhaps she waited until she could abort them in private. But part of her knew if she waited and showed, it'd be harder to get away.

"But what about them?"

He was marching away from his responsibility at the moment, refusing to see her despite making a beeline to her. Eden stood defiantly now, her chin raised and her eyes on him as he retreated. "Will they be safe?" She pressed, refusing to trail after him "will our pups be safe from you?" Eden sliced through his reality like a knife "they didn't have a choice, but they're here. They're growing in me now. Will they be subjected to cruelty and fear when they're born? Will they grow up seeing their mother a doormat, a father to be scared of? I can only change myself, Ignis. I can't change you. I know that. But can't you at least try for them?" Because she knew he wouldn't try for her.
