stupid slippery shimmer

The sparkling shore had caught Vashou, and Salvador's attention. Well caught might be pushing the boundaries, Vashou had seen the sparkle of the water as he followed the river from Bent Canyon. Leaving a trail of paws behind them as they walked. It was a surprisingly straight trail. His ears perking as they had been walking all day, they both noticed the sudden splash and thrash of water. Salvador and Vashou quickly began their move. They had been hungry for the last few hours and had some rather poor luck with prey. So a shored fish would be just the thing for them at this point.
Their quick padding soon came to a halting stop as Vashou realized the splashing was much bigger then any fish he'd ever seen. He dug his claws into the dirt to stop his move again without warning poor Salvador as he went flying this time. Landing in the water with a light splash and likely alerting the large bird to their presence at this point. He might not have realized exactly how big the avian was but at this point he was already in as deep as he could get. So he would approach the bird and take a deep breath, "Is everything ok?"
Salvador popping up from the water holding a fish in his muzzle. Vashou looked over seemingly distracted before saying, "well, there's dinner" he said as the fish was almost as big as the weasel.
