The time had come, finally. The gorge whistled an eager tune as she arrived with new light in her eyes. This, this would the next chapter of her life. Not her startled arrival, not the wolves she befriended. This would be the line in the sand, the hard and true signifier of change. Something she could point to in later life, should she ever reach it. It was not the familiar faces she sought in the crowd this time, having been acquainted with most in the previous meeting.
