Ruse went out to the falls that were so newly added to their pack's territory, this time accompanied by one of her younger brothers. Strix and his littermates were just a season younger than her, but it felt like there had been a bigger gap in their ages than there really was. She chalked it up to just being mature for her age and the fact that rowdy boys weren't exactly her cup of tea so she hadn't spent much time with them up until recently. Now that they were a little older and not quite so insufferable she felt like they could hang out and do things together. That worked out really well for her since they were all yearlings now and could leave the island and she could have someone else with her so her father wouldn't worry so much.
She padded along with Strix and glanced his way with a lifted, inquisitive, dark brow as he mentioned how when he and Morendo had come out here they had found signs of a pack of wild dogs. For a second she wasn't sure why he was bringing it up, but then he asked if she wanted to go teach them a lesson. She smirked at his idea and the eager grin he wore at the idea and she gave a shrug before she replied, "Sure, why not." Even though she was learning how to fight and certainly didn't mind it she couldn't say it was her favorite thing to do. Still, she did look forward to going back home and getting to tell their father how they had chased off this pack of dogs! She knew it made him proud to see her learning how to protect herself so that would be a fun thing to come back and brag about.
Strix altered their course and she followed his lead, keeping an eye out for the dogs he spoke of as they went. It didn't take them long to find them and after exchanging and glance with Strix they move to get into a better position to launch their attack. Keeping down wind and to the shadows, they eventually made their way around to a good launching off point and right after Strix rushed in she did the same. She went for the dog a little more around to the left of the pack than the one he dove for initially, grabbing its hind leg just as it hopped up to react to the sounds of growls, snarls, and whimpers coming from Strix and the dog he had bitten. With a growl of her own, she bit down hard on the limb and pulled back with a firm yank, pulling the wild dog off of its feet and tearing through some of the tendons in its leg. She jumped back to avoid its retaliation as it twisted around on the ground to snap at her nose and when it tried to get up it limped and struggled to do so.
