Bae-Syl shot him a glare that, if Gavroche hadn’t grown up with such looks from a young age, he might have been bothered by them. His words, too, came out with a hint of frustration. Gavroche fixed Bae with a look of his own. He could have easily continued to stress his point, as well as correct the yearling, but he also knew the look Bae-Syl was giving him. In his current state, he was no different than Bellamy when his mate got agitated. He knew the truth though and knew that Lucette did as well. She had a lot to learn. It wasn't him being mean to his daughter or questioning what skills she had. Hell, even he was learning and he was much older than both of them. But leave well enough alone, Gavroche thought. The kids were already sick, and suffering… and getting into a petty argument with them wouldn't help. Still, he defied what Bae-Syl said in his gaze. Then, as the yearling laid his head back down and gave an apologetic smile it really clicked. Bae-Syl was treating his daughter as Bellamy would treat him, prioritizing their smaller counterparts. The young male seemed to have a lot to learn as well. But that was a task for another day and a conversation that was to wait. For now, Gavroche turned toward his bag to find James was already separating what he'd need. The gratitude showed in his eyes as he watched the pygmy marmoset work, speaking softly to him. “Thank you, James. We’ll need Marshmallow, it sounds like…” He turned back to the kids. Lucette’s voice sounded raspy and Bae-Syl’s sounded more hoarse. With the rain and colder temperature yesterday they had developed a cold at least but… He moved the back of his paw to Lucette’s face, testing her temperature. She was burning up; a fever. “Going to need Bonset too, for Lucy at least…” He had to be careful though. Too much of any herb, or too many in general, could spell disaster for his daughter. She was smaller than Bae-Syl… it wouldn’t take much to accidentally give her too much.
