Is there anybody in there?

Lel was keeping an eye on his sister, it was rare to see him extend that much concern for others, but the two had been through a lot together even for being so young. They had both been there to witness their mother?s loss of course, and though they were both very na?ve they knew something had been lost, when once the lands outside the den had been busy now there were silent, the only paws to pace the ground constantly belonging to his family. The boy was pretending to be asleep ,pushed into a back corner, finding it much easier to watch her from the shadows of the den than to be outside.
The boy could see nothing wrong with watching his sister this way. He was simply keeping an eye on her. But his limbs were beginning to cramp, aching for movement, for blood. With an exaggerated yawn he rose to his paws and trotted happily out of the den, flicking his tail in acknowledgement of his sister.
