Experiments

Evening had fallen and the small pup that is Enki quickly makes his way toward the edge of pack lands. While the pups are not allowed off these lands without an adult, that fact does not stop the marbled boy from picking a spot to stare over the border and wonder what lays beyond. Tonight, he has found a nice rock to stretch out on and watch from. A black and silver form appears, strutting past the small boy. Curious, he lifts his head from his paws and pup watches his siblings progress, silently jealous of his ability to come and go as he pleases.

But the wolf speaks up, inviting him along and Enki doesn’t need to be asked twice. Small legs churn as the pup scrambles to join Misery but, since he is laying down, his legs just force the boy to tumble head over heels to ground. An, “Oof” is heard as he lands but the pup is built to bounce and he is quickly back on his paws and racing after his brother. Tail wags as he falls into step with Misery, the pup mirroring his sibling’s gait as they walk. Puffing out his chest, the boy says, “I’m Enki! What are falls?” Pale blue eyes glance to Misery as the pup wonders what they are going to see.
