Azure was not prepared for the viciousness the pirate came at him with. The smaller man was faster then he could have anticipated, and before he could get a good hold upon the other man's head, he felt his own flesh being torn away. A pained snarl rumbled from deep in his chest and he snapped out in retaliation as his opponent's head came away with his shredded ear tip, catching only the man's cheek as it retreated. The fury and adrenaline did it's part in staving off what part of the pain might keep him from continuing, but before he could jump back in and assault the pirate once more there was a small undeniable pressure upon his limb.
Azure shook his head hard, displacing droplets of blood across the beach. With no time to pause and consider the injury he was forced to continue forward. Another large male was arriving on scene but this one did not initiate upon him immediately. The tiny pirate attacking him was more annoying then anything else, and in preparation for the fight that would come with this behemoth, Azure lifted his paw and aimed to deliver as hard of a smack to the small body as he could manage with the angle with the intent to send the kid tumbling hard off to the side. Keeping his eyes upon the adult who had arrived to take the child's place, Azure returned the snarl with one of his own. "Make me." Blood had made it's way down his cheek from Azure's maimed ear, pooling in the corner of his lip and bubbling briefly as he growled his reply.
