This had happened before? That thought was not comforting to the yearling. She flicked her ears back, gaze shooting to Bae-Syl. She just hoped that her mom would be alright. She didn’t want to think about if they’d have to defend themselves from her… especially not Bae. He wasn’t bad. He shouldn’t need to defend himself from the woman like he was some sort of criminal or something… but she knew dwelling on the concern she felt wasn’t going to help either. She needed to remain calm, and let her dad handle things from here. She sighed a little and lifted her gaze to Bae as he introduced himself.

At least that could make her smile. She bumped against him gently, teasingly speaking. “And he loves it. All of our experiments.” She let her gaze slip back to her dad. He looked as though he was already resting. “We’ll head off for now. I may have admittedly found a place close by we can stay for now too… So I’ll come back tomorrow.” She grinned up at Bae then.

“Come on! You’re going to love it. It’s huge!” With that the girl set off, leading the way with the assumption her bestie would be right behind her.
