Aryn was ready to tuck tail and go home when the challenger arrived, wearing the same spotted pelt that many other Boreas residents had. The koi-wolves were a mixed breed, some of them stoic and serious, others much more willing to do harm and shed blood. There seemed to be a cultural divide there somewhere, and the woman's way of speaking only seemed to confirm it. Giving her opponent a hesitant smile and a nod of her head, Aryn accepted the challenge. "Hello, yes, uhm, that's fine with me, thank you. My name is Aryn." Was it customary to introduce oneself and set rules and standards before a match? These were all things she'd need to learn if the Valentine woman was to advance herself and her skills.
The stranger - Sayuri - did not move to initiate, and so Aryn assumed the ball was in her court. Ears flicking back in uncertainty, she glanced over to her dik-dik who gestured with his horned head. She took a moment to inhale deeply, and then strode forward to meet the woman in combat. Running felt odd, when the fight was such low-stakes, like she was taking it too serious or something. Though walking was simply stupid - that much Aryn knew. Bumbling beneath her ineptitude, she closed the distance at a bit of a jog, second guessed every potential target (how did one use their teeth in battle without drawing blood?[/i]) and in the end, settled for attempting to reach around and close her jaws around the other woman's scruff.
