Meal time

Kotori glides through the grass, careful of each step but it doesn’t take much effort.  He knows these stomping grounds all too well and muscle memory knows just how to move when hunting.  He makes his way to the designed tree and sets his gaze on where he had directed Eulogy.  

Patiently he waits but it’s a short wait before Eulogy runs from her spot, chasing the mule deer to where Kotori waits.  The closer they get the more Kotori’s muscles coil, ready to break free.  Something that happens fast seems to take far longer when all one’s attention is focused on it.  Kotori rushes forward when there are only a handful of strides between them.  Kotori lunges in, teeth gripping the underside of the neck.  

Kotori lifts his front legs off the ground, using his height to get them on her back, putting pressure to try and make the deer fall over.  The deer tries to run despite the wolf attacking its neck and back, it struggles to try and escape but Kotori’s not worried.  He’s expecting the other wolf to make it easy at this point.
