Gavroche and Bellamy had been welcomed into the pack of Menagerie and though Gavroche hadn’t said anything just yet to either Bells or Wren, he had thought he noticed a change in his mate’s scent. Could it be she had conceived when they mated at the marble wash? It seemed unlikely, but possible. The man was somewhat hoping he was right, even if it was earlier than anticipated, and that he and Bellamy might get more members to their family just as they had hoped. The man was trembling with excitement, hoping he might be able to find some more herbs soon that might ease her pregnancy.

He had been roaming through the territory of the sparse pines when the scent of a youngling caught his attention. The pup was small, barely three months he was sure. His gaze swept the landscape, searching for the kid, and there he was. A monochrome youth, and one that seemed to be taking an interest in… ah! The mint. It wasn’t a bad herb at all. He padded towards the youngster without fear or worry, his wings fluffed up against his body and, for once, neither companion present.

“Checking out the mint?” Gavroche asked gently when he approached. He hoped he wouldn’t catch the little one off guard or anything.
