For as large as Dread already was, he'd become pretty okay at climbing. It wasn't like he was climbing up the mountain, no, but he'd learned to toe the line on the just high enough stones. If he was going to be a guardian, a sentinel, he was going to need a good vantage point. Dread's eves worked. His sisters' did not. In his mind, his purpose was clear. Very, very clear. He would watch. He'd keep them safe. Wherever they were right now. Inside, last he'd checked. Dread practiced the careful route up the small boulder, one that was probably the same height as the Warlord. It wasn't climbing up the mountain, it was climbing up like, a whole two rocks. And he had a good reason. Though his joints weren't quite fully cooperative yet, and it took some fighting to remain stable, Dread was sure of foot and keen of eye. He panted lightly in the warmth of the afternoon sun as he reached the top of his boulder. Slightly out of breath, but the pride that washed over him was a feeling that would become addictive in time. From his spot, laying comfortably atop the large, flat rock, Dread took in the Col. Quiet. Listening. Watching. |
