When You Thought It Was Over
Name: Vaziel Adravendi
Age: 6 years
Birth: Summer
Personality:
A daredevil, a charmer, a depressive, and a family man all wrapped up in one, Vaziel is a complicated man in many ways. He is like a diamond, with many facets and layers upon his personality. Deep beneath his skin lays a man suffering, clinging with an identity crisis that stems from having never known a great portion of his family, and a deep pain lingers from the loss of his mother. This leaves him insecure, a house with a shaky foundation, a man who struggles with mental illness that he has no way of treating. Oh, he refuses to admit his agony, for fear of being a burden to his family and for fear that he will be perceived as weak.
Alas, this instability is covered up in multiple layers. Sitting upon the next layer is a devotion to his family, in particular devotion to his siblings. Uncertain of himself, he throws himself into protecting his family, not one to completely give up his own identity to defend his loved ones but also not the sort to put his own wellness before that if his dear ones?. He?s a relaxed sort, certainly not a leader until it is demanded of him, content to let others take over the decision making for once. He does not strive for perfection in his work, because he knows himself to be truly imperfect. Vaziel does not see his existence as being worth much, and as such he does not see how anything he does could be worth very much. Often lazy, he will not sit around so much as to be a detriment to his family, but he is certainly not one to enjoy putting forth too much effort.
He is a hothead occasionally, impulsive and neglecting to think before he acts or speaks. Mostly this is directed at enemies, who will engage themselves in a fiery wrath. This can get him into trouble, as Vaziel isn?t exactly a warrior type and is prone to getting his ass kicked, but the man cares little for his own well-being. He is expendable after all, a sacrifice to be made when the time comes. Often he takes risks that can be mistaken for suicidal, throwing himself off of cliffs if only because he desires deeply to feel alive, even if only for a moment. Maybe he is partly hoping that one day, he will die from these risks, because then he will die as a living, breathing creature and not as a zombie of a man.
On the surface he is a charmer, silver tongue and friendly jokes masking the interior pain he feels. So many will look at a glance and see nothing but smooth talker, a stranger who is easy to get along with and who has no foul intentions. This could not be more wrong; Vaziel is a soul in deep pain, a man who so many glance at and do not truly see. There are pieces of him that have fallen apart, from the departure of would-be lovers who found him too broken to fix to the death of his mother and the discovery that he did have family out there, family to whom his existence didn?t even matter.

Sometimes, the cold bit right through his skin, seeping down to his bones and leaving him naught but a frozen statue. It wasn?t the snow that gave him frostbite, but the loneliness, the depression, the demons that he tried to slay but could not fight off for the life of him. Nonetheless, Vaziel Adravendi pressed onwards with his littermates, urged forth by the promise that after their long journey they would come across a long lost family who would embrace them with open arms. He didn?t protest their movements, but he was slightly pessimistic. How would they ever find this long lost family? Would this family even believe them? They didn?t even know anything about them (or at least Vaziel didn?t, for his mind had locked upon the name Cairo as an answer to his identity crisis), let alone where they might reside.
They?d taken a break in their travels for today, leaving Vaziel free time to explore the icy terrain they were currently staying in. Today the man had found a hot spring, a god send to a creature with frozen limbs and aching muscles. Perhaps it would be stupid for him to get wet and then go back into the cold, but the chocolate-smothered man did not find himself caring all that much. Well, he cared, but in the moment he wasn?t exactly thinking ahead. He pulled himself into the warm waters, enjoying the embrace of the springs, losing all thoughts and emotions as he relaxed. The sound of gentle footsteps distracted him, silver eyes opening to set upon a strange figure.
?Good evening, miss,? he greeted. She was a pretty woman without a doubt, and Vaziel could not help but admire her momentarily. ?Hello,? she responded, seeming shy. He offered her a kind look, not wanting to make her seem unwelcome. ?You know, a pretty woman like yourself is always welcome to share,? he told her, moving so as to allow room. The woman stared at him for a moment, eyes narrowing in annoyance as she huffed and turned. Vaziel sighed in reaction, slumping at his failure to even make friendly conversation. Oh well, he?d tried, and for now he could drown in the peace of the water. Well, at least until he froze his ass off when he decided to get out.
