What a Deer
Saracyn

Deimos nodded as Saracyn agreed to the simple sibilance of a plan he presented and then waited while Saracyn began to move off, putting a bit of distance between the two of them. He watched as glimpses of Saracyn's red fur peeked out from between the rocks as he made his way to his hiding spot. Once his nephew came to a stop on the other side of the herd Deimos directed his attention back to the deer that were now sandwiched between them. He waited behind the rock he was using for cover, just peeking past the edge of it to keep a line of sight with the herd, and crouched as he lingered and waited for the right moment to strike. The wind at least was fairly still, keeping their scents from blowing in the deer's direction too much and alerting them too early to their presence.
It just took a few moments for the mother and her son to drift a bit further from the rest of the herd in their efforts to move toward an untouched patch of greenery. Once the buck lowered his head to take another bite Deimos used that as his cue to rush out of his hiding place, launching his massive form toward the deer in question with loud, roaring growls and snarls to startle them. He rushed forward with loud footfalls, no longer trying to hide as he ran in with full intent to get the herd running. He did just that and the large prey animals took off with panicked bellows and their long, leaping strides. He dove in-between the rest of the herd and the adolescent, the young buck and its mother having to skid and change directions quickly to keep from running into him in the process. They quickly changed directions and instead wound up bouncing off toward Saracyn's hiding spot and once Deimos was sure they were going in the right direction he turned his gaze back toward the rest of the herd for a moment just to make sure they kept moving and didn't try to double back for their kin.
