What a Deer
Saracyn

Deimos heard the thud and slight struggle coming from behind him as his nephew clearly went to work taking down the young buck they had singled out, but he kept his gaze on the larger buck that seemed to be the head of this little clan. The noise clearly got its attention as well and it started to slow, looking back as it considered its options as it eyed him and Saracyn both. Deimos snarled, his hackles bristling as he advanced on the buck a bit, daring it to try and intervene. It did for a moment charge toward him with its large set of antlers lowered and at the ready, causing Deimos to hop out of the way to avoid it. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the doe that had been accompanying the adolescent start to spring away to join the other does that were fleeing and that seemed to be the signal to the buck to let him know it was already too late.
That got the large buck to back off and turn to follow after the rest of its herd, leaving Deimos and Saracyn be with their kill. He straightened up as he gave himself a shake to smooth his fur, smirking as he turned around to see Saracyn standing over the limp, bloodied body of the young deer. He chuckled as he came over to join his nephew, lifting a paw to lightly pat him on his shoulder. "Well done. I'm glad to see that ruthless hunting instinct still runs in the family." He was a simple man when it came to the skills and strengths that he appreciated the most in others and seeing his nephew as skilled as he was at such a young age pleased him and told him that the Ancients hadn't given up on giving them strong souls just yet.
Deimos took the front legs of their kill and dragged the body over into the shade of one of the larger boulders near by just to keep it out of the sun. "Why don't we rest and chat a while before we start carrying this back to the island?" he offered, gesturing with a large, bearlike paw to a spot of grass in the shade beside him. How someone hunting or fought told him a lot about someone and now that he had a little bit of an idea of what Saracyn was really like he was even more interested in getting to know his nephew.
