What a Deer
Saracyn

It wasn't as if he really expected his nephew to deny his request, but he was still pleased when Saracyn agreed to sit and talk with him for a bit. Once they were settled with their kill tucked away and the cool sea breeze blowing over them to keep them from getting over heated in the warmth of the summer day. He didn't really know exactly what he wanted to talk to his nephew about so when he asked he didn't have an answer at the ready, but he did know that he wanted to catch up on even a bit of lost time. He didn't have a lot of regrets in this life and ultimately things would simply happen when they wanted to, but he did wish that he had been able to be there with his sister and that he hadn't wasted all this time looking for a mate that wasn't out there.
It seemed like the only Mendacium male around these days was Poe and he hadn't even caught more than a wiff of his cousin's scent since he arrived in Elysium and Merrick had slipped away just as the trio of siblings had been reunited. That left little influence for the young Saracyn to follow other than his own father and while Alastor certainly seemed like a fine brute, there still wasn't the same kind of understanding that he could share with the young Mendacium—especially since he had once been the son of the Matriarch living in his sisters' shadows as well. After a moment of just enjoying the cool air, Deimos glanced toward Saracyn and said, "You're coming up on your second birthday, aren't you? You're a handsome young brute... Are you going to go out in search of your soul mate like your ancestors or are you planning on sticking closer to home and seeing what comes your way?" There wasn't really a wrong answer one way or another, but he couldn't imagine a red blooded Mendacium like himself simply forgoing the promise of a perfect fae built only for him. It was one of the few wonderful things about this set of laws they subjugated themselves to.
