Let the celebration begin!
{Valta land claim party }

The day had finally come. Kotori and the rest of Valta had worked hard to get the land prepared for today. Fire pits had been set up but were not currently lit, that would be saved for the evening. Tables had been set up for any who came to visit. Two had various types of food, mostly meat but one of the tables also had some fish and even a small section had some berries that were local. Different wolves had different tastes and Kotori had no desire to disappoint in his first fancy showing.
The third table had a decent collection of wine for casual drinks. Kotori had more but tucked away for the drinking competition and whatever was left after that would be a free for all.
Numerous temporary lean-to style shelters had been set up near trees for anyone who wanted a bit more privacy for up to two wolves or perhaps to escape the sun when it was at its brightest. Inside the lean-to’s were pelts, mostly of grizzly bears that hadn't taken the hint to leave his land. Any who wanted to walk up and down the rapids for any reason would find that two bridges had been set up at different locations to more easily cross from one side of the lake to the other.
A net had been set up at a spot in the rapid waters, with wide set holes to let the water cross through without too much restraint but still it would be enough to keep a wolf from being swept along when the water was raging particularly bad. The ends of the net were attached to staked poles that were dug deep into the ground for stability.
Wolves were permitted entry through the sunset falls but most of the feasting would be here in the grassy areas a short distance from the rapids. His announcement of the party location had been clear when shared with others. Splash, Kotori’s snow leopard was at sunset falls to direct any who seemed unaware of where to go. Aslatiel’s falcon was in the sky keeping watch to make sure no trouble made its way to the pack in this time of fun. Kotori had only had one stipulation of who was not allowed but he didn’t know if it would be respected. For that matter, Kotori didn’t know all of his own guests so eyes in the sky were a valued asset.
The day was still early, but the fun was expected from morning till late evening with plenty of feasting, drinking, and games to keep everyone busy. Kotori offered polite greetings and pleasantries to wolves who showed up. Pleasantries weren’t something Kotori had done a lot of but now that he lead a pack it was a thing he would need to get used to at least to some extent. He’d wait till a good number appeared before any official greeting to everyone was made.
