Panic. It was the only thing in Gavroche’s mind as he raced across the lands to alert his mate of what he’d seen. With every step his body trembled, his stomach having leaped to his throat long ago. Thank the Divinities Lucette had come by to see them and could sit with her younger siblings. He had to find Bells, hopefully, stop her before this fight got too far underway, and figure out what they could do. He knew she wasn’t going to be happy… and she needed her strength for the fight that was undoubtedly to come. He’d seen Ignis, and one of his children, luring Saga off. His polar bear daughter had been too far to hear him… and Divinities above would he harm a child? Kill her? Why couldn’t this feud between his mate and the scarred red wolf be over? Why did it have to continue? Were they going to keep harassing each other until one of the other was dead? Would Ignis attempt to kill Bellamy? Was Saga bait? His stomach churned, his anxiety bubbling to new extremes. He didn’t bother looking at the other wolves gathered at the challenge. The alpha of the pack Bellamy was challenging was speaking to her. Gavroche didn’t wait for him to be finished as he called to her as loud as he could manage. “Bells!” The tiny-winged man cried. “Ignis has Saga! I need your help!” |
