Sharpen the Knife

Though she charged without warning, she hardly meant any harm to the youngster, instead wanting to get a feeling for where her skills truly were at. Most fights of any consequence happened unprompted and it was good to know whether she'd be even a little bit prepared for such a thing or not. If she was caught completely by surprise Thalia hoped she could teach her a thing or two about preparedness if nothing else. Such a lesson would be good for any wolf, no matter their skill level.

Marchosias clearly didn't anticipate her to initiate the fight so suddenly and she reeled back, though not entirely. Quickly she reacted and shoved her weight forward, hard into Thalia's stomach. It was a good move and she made a mental note to tell the young wolf that she'd made a good decision in diving into the fight rather than trying to dodge her movements entirely. That could easily spell a worse outcome than facing her head-on, especially if she made a misstep. The force was enough to make her pause for a moment before attempting to bring her paw higher and down on the girl's shoulders. While she did that she aimed a bite at the side of her neck, hoping to hold onto her scruff and overpower her.
