He could tell it was a struggle, but whether that was from the turmoil of it, or trying to find her bearings, he couldn’t tell. He was silent, giving her time to sort through it and begin. He did raise a brow at her first sentence, but didn’t interject. A fire was never a good start. She spoke of how it pushed her to the ocean. There was a bit of confusion between that, to how she got on a raft, to arriving at their shore on a log. Perhaps it was trauma, or she had hit her head harder then they realised.

She touched her nose to his, and he kept his gaze on her, offering her what comfort he could. She had been through a lot. More than just a near-sinking. “I’m Mercury Ermís.
