Soulless Forest Altar

Word of the these funky statues had spread like wildfire, and as an appreciator of the arts, Siobhan felt drawn to them. She'd waffled on which one she'd visit, but ultimately chose the path of least resistance and selected the one she was closest to at the time of their arrival. She fell in line with the other wolves that approached, trembling with excitement so much so that she worried her limbs would lock and she would hit the ground before her turn arrived. Sio was toting an elaborate artwork that she had brought once she'd learned wolves were leaving things behind to decorate the statues. Collaborative art was always exciting, unpredictable - she was thrilled to be part of it all. When the wolves ahead cleared away, Siobhan unrolled the item she had brought: it was a massive polar bear pelt. The fur was preserved well enough, not as stark white as it could have been, but the real work lay on the tanned hide beneath. Painted in the bear's own blood with some ochre and marigold accents was an intricate depiction of many different kinds of flowers. Sio had found the carcass and saved as much of the skin as she could before gathering pots of the congealed blood and later creating the painting after the hide had tanned. The art was then covered in a thin layer of beeswax, blurring the lines dreamily and preserving the work at the same time. It was her most ambitious piece to date and she left it behind with a bowed head. Ah, to be part of such creation!
