Calico sets about passing on what knowledge he has for fighting to Aresenn and the patchwork boy is thoroughly impressed with how quickly the fire-pelted boy catches on. Voicing his praise, Jack grins as the fire-kissed pup compliments his teaching and he barks a short laugh while jokingly saying, “Ah, just wait. You might not think that by the time we finish!” Eyes dance with mirth as, Cal shows Aresenn the importance of his stance by pushing into him.
Once done, Jack listens to what Aresenn thinks, nodding in agreement to the other boy’s statement while adding, “Yeah and it helps to come back to this position during a fight. Now, while in that stance, I want you to try lunging to the right. But, before you move, try digging your claws into the ground.” Cal steps back to watch the boy, nodding when he does as instructed.
A knowing grin spreads across his lips as he says, “Now, how did that feel? Did you have more control over your movements or less?” With their lesson drawing to a close, Calico poses questions to see what Aresenn thinks and, more importantly, how he feels with the movements.
