Something's changed

Corbie slowed from the ground-covering lope used for long journeys, coming to a stop at a break in the familiar wall surrounding Valhalla's pack lands. It felt strange to finally return here as an alpha after her last visit, when she had had no intention whatsoever to have any part in a pack, let alone thinking about leading one. She hadn't liked the idea of the way packs were set up, but it had been here that she'd really begun to consider the idea of making something of her own. She was oddly nervous about meeting her late guardian's grand-nephew on equal terms, alpha to alpha. Still, she hesitated only long enough to catch her breath before lifting her muzzle to call for Ardyn.
