Just a Little Haunting - Submission Thread

It feels weird to be here still, and you find yourself struggling to feel grounded as time wears on. You aren't even sure exactly how aware you are. Your vision blurs and you feel yourself shifting between the world of the living and the one beyond that. You have to stop and try to focus your mind, looking down at your paws and telling yourself to breathe. Were you even breathing, to begin with? You feel things jolt and then settle and when you lift your head you're still in the world of the living, but no more able to affect it than you were before. Something catches your eye and curiously you pad toward it, a pile of strange rocks that somehow seem to catch the light around them. They feel like the most real things around you right now but it still takes a moment to realize you can see yourself reflected off of their surface. You glance around hopefully but it seems no one else can see you, or the rocks for that matter. You tentatively reach out to touch them, feeling their cold surface beneath your paws. You don't know how but somehow you know they are for you, and without needing to pick them up you collect them, stowing them somewhere beyond physical space or time.
