She would refuse to rest, refuse to give up her thrown until her last breath. What little faith Canttina had in Karmen was seemingly frail, like a stale loaf of bread. Karmen would not tolerate loaves of bread. She was the Countess of Amenti, a female placed second in charge, a wolf who should be the Empress' right-hand. But alas, Canttina was stubborn. ?You are unconditionally pig-headed, my Queen.? A small smile curled the corners of her lips as she redirected her attention back towards Canttina: a part of her fervently admired her ambition, the other, more dominant part thought she was stupid. But as business became the topic of interest, Karmen's attention was peaked, the apex of desire glittering in her eyes. To her knowledge, Canttina had found a weapon that she lusted for: he was probably a wild cat, sleek and elegant, with a lengthy body and luxurious coat that could possibly rival hers. Karmen wasn't known for envy, why should she? When she was very obviously the most beautiful wolf to ever breathe? But felines - they were something that tickled her jealousy muscle. She shared similar qualities with the opposite race: cat-like eyes, a natural talent for stalking her prey (usually handsome men), and a divine need to groom herself. As Canttina began to explain the terms of his alliance, Karmen lifted her brow. The Empress was whoring her for the night; she was a gift for his services. Karmen was used to using her beauty as a tool for business, but she never allowed a man to muddy her perfection, especially not a feline. Arrogant amusement touched her face and coiled in her confines, a small chuckle bubbling in the hollow of her throat. ?Of course,?she purred, ?I will gladly tend to this business.? But she did not leave much room for chitchat, for she rose to her feet, and began to depart from this brief intervention. ?Tell me where this King of the Beasts resides and I will see to it that he remain loyal to our Empire.? |
