what strange occurrences

Inferno yipped in surprise as an acorn landed on her head, startling her out of her contemplations. Rubbing at it, she glanced up only to get a second acorn on the nose. Well, that was one change - the nuts shouldn't be harvestable yet, but the change in weather had forced them along quickly enough that they were apparently falling on their own. She could see that the leaves on the tree they'd fallen out of were completely turned now too, as though they were at the height of autumn instead of the tail end of summer. Shaking her head and ducking another acorn, she continued on her way.
